1 - Scary Agenda . . .
Anti-Homeschooling

I would like to pass along some urgent information. The Democratic Party has now aligned itself squarely against homeschooling and parental rights. The Democratic National Committee's website (www.dnc.org), endorsed by Al Gore, attacks Republican Presidential nominee George W. Bush for being "soft" on homeschooling. That same website parrots the agenda of the NEA, the nation's biggest teachers' union, insisting that all teachers of all children should be required to possess state certification. That requirement would KILL homeschooling.  . . .  GO>

2 - Republican-led Congress approves resolution for National Home Education Week
WASHINGTON, DC—The U.S. House of Representatives by unanimous consent declared Oct. 1-7, 2000, National Home Education Week in a late night vote Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000.
Bob Schaffer (R-CO), sponsored House Resolution 578, making Oct. 1-7, 2000, National Home Education Week. The U.S. Senate passed a similar resolution in 1999.
